Barclays is sending out targeted emails offering a $15 statement credit when adding an authorized user. My wife received this offer on a Choice Privileges credit card, but Barclays might be sending similar offers to holders of their other credit cards too.
The Deal
- Earn a $15 statement credit when adding an authorized user.
Key Terms
- Authorized user must be added by December 31, 2018.
- Offer is valid for select cardmembers and is not transferable.
- Limit one per account.
Quick Thoughts
A $15 statement credit isn’t as generous as the 5,000 points Chase and American Express sometimes offer for adding authorized users. However, it’s a free $15 that doesn’t require that the authorized user actually use the card – the statement credit is awarded with no spend requirement.
My wife received this offer on a Choice Privileges credit card, but Barclays has a tendency to send similar offers out on a range of different cards. It’s therefore worth checking your emails if this offer interests you – the subject line of the email we received was ‘Add an authorized user and earn a $15 statement credit’.
Be aware that authorized user cards affects someone’s 5/24 status, but they can call Chase to have them reconsider an application if it’s AU cards that push them over 5/24.
Receivrd on my Wyndham Reeards card but no way for $15 (spend or no spend). Approved for the WOH card, maybe something on it for AUs?
