World of Hyatt is targeting some members with an excellent new promotion, offering triple points on all stays of 2+ nights for 90 days after registration. This should also stack with other bonus points promotions running right now.
The Deal

Key Terms

Quick Thoughts
This sadly appears to be a targeted promotion; my wife received an email about it, but I didn’t get it on my account.
The email mentioned registration as being required, but there was no registration link included. There was some goofy formatting/design in the email, so it makes me wonder if the email was sent prematurely.
Despite that, it was still possible to register her account. To do that, log in to your World of Hyatt account, then go to Account > My Offers > Available. If you’re targeted, you should see a registration link there.
Earning triple points on stays of two or more nights is an excellent deal, especially considering it’s valid at all brands worldwide. You normally earn 5 points per dollar, so this promo will mean you end up with 15 points per dollar. With 10 bonus points being earned per dollar from this promo, you’ll max out the 30K bonus points limit after spending $3,000.
That’s before any kind of elite member bonus, but be aware that elite bonus points are calculated on the base earning rate. For example, Explorist members get a 20% bonus on paid stays, which works out at 1 extra point per dollar (based on the fact that you earn 5x base points). That means an Explorist member will still only earn 1 additional point per dollar as an elite member with this triple points promo, rather than 3 additional points per dollar.
The terms state that ‘Except as expressly stated, this promotion is not valid with other offers, promotions or discounts and is non-transferable.’ However, I would expect this promo to stack with this promo for Hyatt Regency stays in the US or with this double points promo for stays in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
The bonus points will still only be calculated on the base points though. For example, with that other double points promo, I’d expect that you’ll earn a total of quadruple points (i.e. 20x) when also registered for this triple points promo. That’s based on the following calculation:
- 5 points per dollar (base points)
- 5 points per dollar (bonus points from double points promo)
- 10 points per dollar (bonus points from triple points promo)
Once you’ve registered, you have 90 days to earn triple points. If you don’t have any imminent stays planned, it might be worth holding off until closer to December 1 to register so that the 90 days clock doesn’t start ticking for now. Just make sure that you don’t forget to actually register.

You’re right – I’d pulled the terms from the registration page, but the email my wife received does indeed list that registration date of December 1. Thanks for the heads up – I’ll get the post updated.
Curious to know how/if bonus points are earned on an award stay of 2+ nights. The print says – “For the purpose of this promotion, an “Eligible Stay” is defined as any stay where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award.” Am I being unrealistic here?
You might earn it for incidental spending charged to your room (e.g. meals, spa treatments, etc.)
