Quick Thoughts
Many airline shopping portal promo are only valid for 10-14 days, so it’s nice that these ones are valid for four weeks. Each of the portals also has a feature making it easier to hit at least one of those spending thresholds.
For Southwest, it’s the fact that the lowest threshold only requires $50 of spend. I don’t remember ever seeing a requirement that low before as the lowest is usually $100. This could be a good return if you only anticipate a very small amount of eligible online spend over the course of the next few weeks.
The United portal on the other hand has a different feature that might be of interest. That’s because it has an in-store card-linked program and that kind of in-store spend counts towards the thresholds for these promotions. Several of the eligible in-store retailers have corresponding Amex Offers, Citi Offers, etc. that’ll stack, such as ASICS, Cole Haan, Men’s Wearhouse, Pandora, Tommy Hilfiger and more.
