Also had frustration with this: They “didn’t have enough information to approve my application” so they need to verify my identity in person, but there aren’t any branches in my state. Never had this issue with other account creations.

Well, that’s frustrating. When I try to start the process, it won’t accept either my or my wife’s phone numbers. We both have Google Voice, which works with all the rest of our banking systems, but apparently not with Wells Fargo.
