Quick Thoughts
These are pretty much the standard sorts of the deals that we normally see during Air France’s promo rewards. It’s nice to see some US-Europe premium economy fares loaded (especially from Chicago), but a couple of routes in business class would be even nice.
It seemed like there was some issues loading pricing early this morning when the promo cities were released, so it might be worth checking back later in the day to find up-to-date availability.
IT issues apparently, these promos are still not loaded as of morning ET on 1/3…no way everything was snatched up that quickly. Come on Flying Blue/AF/KLM!
Check Canada for business deals. I’m seeing some 50k deals, though that may be for single tickets. Nonstops don’t seem to work, but connecting somewhere does. For example, Florence to Amsterdam to Toronto is 50k in J on March 27, but Amsterdam to Toronto is 87.5k.
I think that’s their new standard pricing. It’s good, but not part of the promo awards system.
Their standard 50k business each way to/from the US to Europe has disappeared in the past few months. I have flown it several times but it’s almost nowhere to be found. The new lowest seems to be 107-109k.
I forget – does AF charge higher tax EU-US on me-way (as Delta does)? If not, a long daytime leg in E isn’t bad. It’s those red-eyes to Europe that hurt
All airlines pass along the taxes (as opposed to carrier-imposed surcharges) in the co-pay. Since many European countries have air departure taxes of $100 or more while US taxes are only $5.60, you can expect any airline departing from Europe to charge at least that amount more in the westbound direction.
Regardless, AF charges a fair amount of surcharges on each award ticket. And it’d be helpful if the posts included the range – like $230-350, etc.
