Quick Thoughts
As always, these can be good deals if you have an easy – and cheap – way to liquidate them. It’s also useful that you have the choice of Mastercard, Visa and Amex gift cards depending on if you have a preference for one kind of network.
Bear in mind that these sites are all owned by Incomm and Amex doesn’t normally offer rewards on purchases from any of them. I did see a data point the other day that someone’s purchase with an Amex card did earn them points, but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule, so it’s best to earn credit card rewards on a different type of card.

I assume that there are still shipping charges on these, only the “purchase” fees are waived. No?
If buying physical cards, then yep – there’ll be shipping fees. You can buy digital cards though and they’ll be fee-free.

not as familiar with using the Amex gift cards — are these generally recognized as debit cards when using on various sites?
Amex gift cards are rejected so often – it is a real pain to use despite the claims from AmEx. My advise – stay away.
