Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is almost done! The last two weeks Greg, Nick, and Stephen competed to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines. But who completed the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
Target has a flyer out stating that they will be offering $40 off $40 or more when applying for a Target REDCard debit card or credit card from July 12-25, 2020. It’s definitely not worth a hard pull and 5/24 slot to go for the credit card, but the debit card could be well worth it for Target shoppers.
The Deal
- Target will offer $40 off a qualifying purchase of $40 or more with approval for a new Target REDCard debit or credit card from July 12-25, 2020
- No link as this was sent to customers via mailer
Key Terms
- The debit card offers the same benefits as the credit card without any impact to your 5/24 status, so it is advisable to go after the debit card if you pursue this deal
Quick Thoughts
The debit card links to your checking account and to my knowledge there is no hard pull. There are sometimes slightly higher value deals on this, but $40 off of $40 is pretty good for something that doesn’t have much downside.

Just out of curiosity, what is a hard pull worth to you?
Also, since this is a debit card, wouldn’t this most likely be a soft pull?
A lot more than $40.
And you’re correct that it is most likely a soft pull. That’s why I said in the post, “The debit card links to your checking account and to my knowledge there is no hard pull.” and why I noted at the top that the debit card may be worth it, not the credit card.
