The Alaska, United and AAdvantage shopping portals are running new holiday bonus promotions. These bonuses represent a good way to increase your earnings while shopping online.
Alaska MileagePlan
The Alaska MileagePlan shopping portal is holding a holiday promotion through 11/20/16. Here are the key terms:
During the “Holiday Bonus” bonus campaign, which runs from 10/31/16 through 11/20/16 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of up to 3,000 Mileage Plan™ Shopping bonus miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard Mileage Plan™ Shopping miles earned from shopping online through the Mileage Plan™ Shopping mall.

Earning Structure
- 500 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $150.
- 1,500 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $500 or more.

Other Portals
Both the Southwest Rapid Rewards and Delta SkyMiles portals are run by the same company as these three, but as of yet they do not have holiday bonus promotions. If they launch any promotions on those portals, I’ll make sure to cover them in a separate quick deal.

Do you have to use a credit card earn a frequent flyer miles?
What if you do not have those?
No, it is not necessary to use credit cards from those airlines associated with their shopping portals. You can use any credit card that is accepted (Visa, MC, Amex, etc). You can even use gift cards from the respective vendors to make payment. For example, you can purchase Macys gift cards at Staples using your Chase Ink Plus and earn 5X from that, then go online at these portals and earn the additional bonus miles offered for Macys and pay with the Macys gift card, effectively stacking one bonus on top of the other to maximize your mileage earning.
