Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is almost done! The last two weeks Greg, Nick, and Stephen competed to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines. But who completed the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
Japan Airlines has released substantial first class award availability on their routes between the U.S. & Japan for dates from now through next March. On many flights there are 3 or more seats available in first class.
American Airlines and Japan Airlines are OneWorld partners and a one-way fare between the U.S. & Japan is only 62,500 AAdvantage miles. If you connect to elsewhere in Asia, a one-way ticket costs only 67,500 AAdvantage miles.
Since Japan Airlines doesn’t normally release this much first class award inventory, this may be a mistake and probably won’t last long. You can search for availability on the British Airways website, but if your are using AA miles, you will have to call AAdvantage to book, since their website doesn’t show JAL availability.

HT: The Points Guy
Just a word of caution. I stumbled upon this last night and grabbed to F seats for next year using AA miles, it’s been almost 24 hours and they are still showing as “on request” when I check my advantage account. The Miles have not been deducted yet either. I’m hoping it’s just a slow system.
this is totally normal with AAdvantage… you have nothing to worry about. 🙂
