Update: Based on comments below, it seems like cardholders of Chase’s suite of Marriott credit cards (including Ritz) have been targeted for this offer. some are getting an offer for 5,000 points, while others are getting an offer for 10,000 points.

I initially thought this might have been a targeted offer, but it might be open to all Chase Marriott credit cardholders. If you add an authorized user having not received an email about the offer though, there wouldn’t really be any recourse if you didn’t earn any bonus points.

Chase is sending out (targeted?) emails to Marriott credit cardholders offering 5,000 or 10,000 bonus points when adding an authorized user.

Marriott Bonvoy Premier Plus authorized user 10,000 bonus points

The Deal

  • Add an authorized user to a Chase Marriott Bonvoy credit card and get 5,000 or 10,000 bonus points.

Key Terms

  • Expires October 30, 2020.

Quick Thoughts

This is an easy win as there’s no requirement for the authorized user to put any spend on their card, so you just add an AU and get 10,000 bonus points.

My wife and I both have this card and we both received emails about it, but it might be a targeted offer. Let’s hope Chase offers similar bonuses on other cards.

[…] Chase Marriott Cards: Add Authorized User & Get 5,000 to 10,000 Bonus Points (Targeted?) (Expires 10/30/20) […]

Mark

I got the 5K offer on my Bus card. Can you add two AUs and get 10 (or 20)? I can not see this addressed in the T$Cs

Alan

My wife has the business premier. If you didn’t get a email, how do you know what the offer is? Will it count against 5/24 for authorized user?

Billy Bob

Everyone whose P2 is bumping up against 5/24 should think twice about this.

Kevin

P2 received this offer, and I haven’t tried yet. Does it require a “real” person to be added?

Billy Bob

I recommend adding your cat. That strategy worked so well for Citibank/AA vouchers…

Kevin

I get your point and appreciate your comment. I was not talking about adding many AUs, just didn’t want it to link back to a spouse and cause potential 5/24 issue.

Michael

Got 10k offer on Ritz card

Kimbra

Can you post the Ritz AU link?

Nick

I only got 5K to add an AU on my Ritz card

Jeff

Got the same offer on the old Marriott Bonvoy Premier card.

Alex

Hello – I received the offer on both my wife’s and my card… this shouldn’t impact the 5/24 application rules, right?

Alex

Hi Stephen – I got the offer on our personal accounts… Does it impact then 5/24 app rules? I’ve been reading online and it seems that it does… arrggg!

Alex

Okay… thanks for the heads up!

Kimbra

Even though no SS# required to add AU?

Nick Reyes

Correct. Chase reports it and the dots get connected even without the SSN when the home address is the same.

I received this offer, and added a user.

P2 who also has the same card did not. However, when I click through and sign in to P2’s account, the offer still shows up.

This is usually not the case with Chase referral offers etc as the click through link usually says the offer is invalid. OTOH, the click through link goes to a generic “add user” Chase page and shows all of P2s accounts.

Is it safe to add a user on P2’s account to get 10K miles?
