These types of offer work on variable load Mastercard gift cards, so buying one of those works out better than buying $100 and $50 Mastercard gift cards because then you only have to pay one purchase fee rather than two.
The purchase fee on variable load Mastercard gift cards is $5.95, so the $10 instant discount means you come out $4.05 ahead. You can then pay with a card that earns more at grocery stores to make the deal even more rewarding.
While you’re there, don’t forget that you can also earn back 10% in rewards on up to $500 of third party gift cards. That won’t stack with this offer as Mastercard gift cards are excluded from that other deal, but it means you can get ~$1,000 of grocery store spend with both deals potentially being profitable.

Just looked at this yesterday – all visa and MC GCs at Meijer are now Metabank (or Sunrise). They used to have US Bank MCs but not currently. Also for anyone using CashApp, check your account as I received a 10% off Meijer boost this week (reason I was looking at the cards yesterday).
