Quick Thoughts
It’s been about 18 months since MGM Resorts partnered with Marriott Bonvoy having previously had a partnership with Hyatt. The terms of this Amex Offer state that ‘Reservations must be made directly through MGM Resorts online at mgmresorts.com, by phone, or through mobile app’, wording that suggests bookings via Marriott aren’t going to be eligible for the statement credit. However, provided MGM bookings via Marriott don’t have payment taken before your stay, you should be fine.
Assuming nothing has changed in the last couple of years, you could have a meal at a restaurant attached to one MGM Resorts property and have it charged to your room at another. That can be helpful with hitting the $400 spending threshold if your total room rate isn’t as high as that. Do note though that note all MGM properties are eligible for this Amex Offer; only the 13 properties listed in the terms above, some of which are in cities outside of Las Vegas.

Anyone know if the prepayment portion triggers the credit?
Yes it should
There’s also a spend $700 for $140 back at MGM Aria, Bellagio, Cosmo.
For some reason I’m only seeing the lower $80 off $400 from the other properties on all my cards and AUs weird. Were they both available for you?
Yup I see both under my platinum, gold, and everyday.
Ugh bummer. Maybe because I used it last year that they are not targeting it to repeats?
