Update 4/3/24: There is another round of referral links out for this 90K + 20% Gold offer. Previously-created links have now expired. If your links weren’t used during the last round and/or if you weren’t targeted for the increased referral offer but now are, we’d love to try and use them now! Original post follows with instructions on how to share your links.

There’s a new referral offer out on the Amex Gold card and we need reader links that go directly to this new offer only (read on for how and where to share your link to the best available offer). The new offer includes both 90,000 points after meeting minimum spending requirements and 20% back at restaurants worldwide for 3 months up to $50 back on $250 in spend. That sweetens the pot by $50 over the previous best offer.

How to see if you’re targeted to refer to this offer (not all Gold cardholders can refer to this)
Only some Gold card holders can refer to this new offers. We need reader links, but only those targeted to refer directly to this new offer. The best way to know if you are targeted is to log in to your Amex account and scroll to the bottom to click the link that says “refer a friend”.
Then choose your Gold card from the menu at the top. That page will show what offer your friend will get when they use their link. If it says that your friend will receive 60,000 points after $6K in purchases in the first 6 months, you are not targeted to refer to this new best offer.
Note that even if you only see 60K there in your Amex login, it is still possible that your friend will click through your link and see a 90K offer sometimes. However, the link will not always populate the 90K offer unless your Amex login says that your friend will receive 90K points. We can only use links on our best offers page that always populate the 90K offer.
If you’ve been targeted for the 90K offer, we need your links. We will be rotating reader links into our Best Offers page daily. If and only if you are targeted to refer to the 90K + 20% back offer, leave your link as a reply to the first comment in this Facebook thread. We appreciate you following directions and leaving your link as a reply to that first comment so that all of the links end up in one thread as it both makes it easier for us to manage the rotation and it keeps the thread open for discussion / questions. Thank you!
I have this offer, but I dont have facebook. Can I post the link here?
My wife’s gold card doesn’t show any Refer a Friend for that card. Only her Blue Business Plus card.
How is this the best offer ever? I once got 90k + $200 SC
P. S what happened to the upvote option?
I didn’t say best ever and didn’t mean that — though in hindsight I see how you could interpret it that way. I said that it is $50 better than the previous best offer — as in “yesterday’s best offer was 90K and now it’s 90K plus up top $50, so this is better than yesterday’s best offer”. I didn’t say it’s the best offer ever — you’re right that we’ve seen an even higher statement credit offer before (though not in a while).
Regarding the upvote option, we had a bunch of random downvotes coming in that didn’t make any sense (simple, uncontroversial comments were getting a bunch of down votes for no explicable reason). I imagine it must have been some sort of bot voting, so we just got rid of that option for now.
What’s the worse that can happen if someone gets downvoted? I like the option because usually the most useful comments are also the most upvoted. Maybe you can try a upvote only option like DOC.
The worst thing that could happen is that someone could get discouraged from commenting – and it just didn’t look great or make any sense because there was no clear reason for the down votes on a bunch of comments.
I’m not saying we’ll never put them back, but comment voting just didn’t seem like an important aspect of the site and given that something wonky was going on with it, we just shut it off. I’m not sure we’ll dedicate much time to troubleshooting that, but like I said I don’t know that it was a permanent decision, just an instant solution.
How often do you go through to approve Facebook requests? Just tried to join the group…
I think just about every day one of us approves everyone who has requested to join in the previous 24 hours and answered the questions.
Please abandon the facebook policy
I understand that not everybody has Facebook, it’s just the easiest method for us to collect and organize reader referrals.
