There’s a new Chase Offer out today for 10% back at Starbucks on up to $100. The terms of the offer indicate that it can only be used once and is not valid on gift cards or gift card reloads (though we don’t know for sure whether or not that term is enforced).
The Offer
- 10% back (uo to $100) on an in-store purchase
Key Terms
- Limit 1 per activation & account
- Not valid on gift card purchases or reloads
Quick Thoughts
As noted above, the terms state that this one isn’t valid on gift card purchases or reloads. Of course, other Chase Offers have said the same and yet I’ve received “thanks for using your offer” emails from both the Staples and Lowe’s offers despite buying gift cards. I haven’t yet received my statement credits, but expect that I will. On this one, it’s harder to say, but I’m going to pick up a gift card over the weekend and see what happens. If it doesn’t work on gift cards, it could still be useful for going on an office coffee run.
I used lowe’s offer after reading your post. I bought 50$ amazon gift card. They confirmed through an email and now I see that I still have the offer. That means- NO. gift card purchase will not work. Good Luck.
On 11/29/17 I bought gift cards from Staples and Chilis but never “thanks for using your offer” emails. Even though the charges are no longer pending (12/2/17), the credit is not reflected. I accessed the Offer History tab on the Chase Offers website and saw confirmation of using the offers.
