In a continuation of the fantastic airfares to Europe as of late, Air Europa (partners with Delta) is offering round trip fares from New York to Madrid for $306 or Miami to Madrid for $346. Plenty of dates seem to be available in both May:

While I haven’t been to Madrid at that time of year, early fall is probably my favorite time to visit Europe — the crowds have dwindled and the weather is still terrific. Note that a $175 change fee applies, though if booking through a US-based OTA you should have 24 hours to cancel without penalty (but always check the terms of the site you are using).
