Pepper Rewards is again offering a targeted promotion to get 10% back on all third party gift cards, this time now through June 30, 2024. Both my wife and I received what I expect is a targeted email for this promotion. As has been the case with past promotions, you should receive 5% back in Pepper points (“coins”) right away and the additional 5% will post a couple of weeks after the promotion ends — this time on July 15, 2024.
The Deal
- Pepper Rewards has sent what might be a targeted email to at least some members offering 10% back on all merchants. That can be a great deal for some rarely-discounted merchants like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and others.
Key Terms
- Valid from June 24, 2024 at 12:00am ET until June 30, 2024 at 11:59pm ET.
- Only purchases charged to the card will count toward the total.
- Points will be issued on July 15, 2024 by 5:00pm ET
Quick Thoughts
This can obviously be a great deal for those targeted, particularly for purchasing gift cards that are otherwise rarely on sale. Amazon could be particularly appealing given that we’re expecting to see July Prime Day deals in a few weeks.
I’ve purchased my share of gift cards from Pepper and so far I think that I’ve gotten all the points promised. I say “I think” because Pepper moved to a ridiculously nonsensical model for displaying their points last month and the app is not at all helpful in tracking whether or not you’ve received your expected points. Still, I am reasonably confident that my points balance is about right.
Keep in mind that the 10% back comes in the form of rewards that can only be used for gift cards, so it’s not quite the same as cash back. Still, if you redeem the rewards for further gift cards at rarely-discounted retailers, this could certainly be a good deal.
Also keep in mind that my read of the terms is that only purchases charged to a credit card earn 10% back. In other words, I do not think that you’ll earn 10% back on purchases paid for using your Pepper Rewards coins.
