Rove adds SAS as new transfer partner with 20% transfer bonus

1

Rove Miles is on a roll. After launching a transfer partnership with Japan Airlines Mileage Bank just a week ago, Rove has today announced yet another new airline transfer partner: Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). Transfers to SAS will be 1:1, but for the first month (through April 8, 2026), Rove is offering a 20% transfer bonus. This is a nice add given Rove is the only active transferable currency offering a partnership with SAS.

The Deal

  • Rove Miles has added a new transfer partner: Scandinavian Airlines (SAS).
  • Transfers ordinarily occur at a 1:1 ratio, but through April 8, 2026, Rove is offering a 20% transfer bonus, whereby 1,000 Rove Miles will transfer to 1,200 SAS miles

Quick Thoughts

SAS garnered quite a bit of excitement in the frequent flyer community when they offered their EuroBonus Millionaire promotion in late 2024, whereby it was (at the time) possible to earn 1 million SAS miles by flying 15 of their SkyTeam partners before the end of the year. Greg, Stephen, and I jetted around the world to each complete the promotion and earn a million SAS miles in our Million Mile Madness challenge.

With a million SAS miles in our pockets, we’ve begun working through some of the program sweet spots, and I enjoyed a family flight to Europe on SAS well enough last year. While SAS increased redemption costs a bit last year, you can still score an excellent deal with business class awards between the US and Europe, starting at just 60,000 miles each way on SAS-operated flights. While partner awards to/from Europe aren’t necessarily cheap at 84,000 miles each way, SAS does not add carrier-imposed surcharges, so some may prefer booking through SAS to avoid those.

As a family traveler, one of my favorite things about SAS is that kids aged 2-11 get a 50% discount on award tickets for travel on SAS-operated flights. That makes SAS a great option for my family when we can find availability on SAS.

On that note, while Seats.aero has been my go-to tool for finding SAS availability. Rove notes in its launch press release that live SAS award search is now built into the Rove Miles search function, enabling you to see availability before transferring miles. That’s a nice addition. Either way, you’re most likely to find business class awards available for close-in travel (within the next couple of months). I sometimes find 4 or more seats within about a month of departure.

Overall, this is a nice addition for Rove, and it’s great to see a transfer bonus to kick off the partnership. Rove now has 15 transfer partners in total:

  • Aeromexico Rewards

  • Accor Live Limitless

  • Air France/KLM Flying Blue
