Quick Thoughts
ShopAtHome hasn’t done a great job of making this promotion clear. The email I received from them about it mentions a $5 bonus at the top, but the terms listed at the bottom of the email don’t mention the $5 bonus, only that you have to spend $25.
Meanwhile, the landing page that the email links to doesn’t mention the promotion whatsoever, nor does it advise anywhere what date this promotion ends. Given that it’s a Mother’s Day themed promo, I suspect it’ll end on May 11 or 12, but who knows.
If you were to spend $200 at a participating retailer, a $5 bonus is effectively only 2.5% extra – not amazing, but potentially worth considering depending on what other shopping portals are offering.
For smaller transactions though, a $5 bonus offers much better value. If you spend exactly $25, you’ll effectively be earning 20% on top of whatever cashback rate is paid normally for that retailer. Just make sure you’re spending $25 before tax. Participating retailers include Macy’s, FTD, StubHub, Walmart, Petco and more.
