Quick Thoughts
Saving 25% on Southwest award flights is a great deal, especially since it’s valid on both one-way and round trip flights and you can book Wanna Get Away or Wanna Get Away Plus fares. Note that the sale is valid for flights in the continental U.S. only, so should exclude routes to Hawai’i or the Caribbean.
If you have any existing reservations booked using Southwest Rapid Rewards points, check how much those flights are now pricing out when using the SAVE25NOW promo code. If they’re cheaper when using the promo code, you can cancel your existing reservation(s) with no penalty and get those points back to immediately rebook using the award sale.
This award sale is due to run through April 15th, but it’d be best to book ASAP. The promotion will likely prove to be very popular, so with people potentially making speculative bookings, the number of points required for any given redemption could increase over the next couple of days, thus negating some of the benefits from this award sale.
Thank you for letting me know. I rebooked several of my flights and saved lots of rapid reward points. However, I found an issue with southwest charging me $11.20 per passenger when I went to cancelled my previous flights (identical flight itinenaries, but cost $5.60 each) and called the customer rep about the 6 one-way flights. Customer rep compared previous cancelled bookings and she noticed that was odd, so she had to escalate it and created a case number for me. I will wait and see what the verdict will be on this. Only brought up the question of why it jumped from $5.60 to $11.20 for exact flight and time, per passenger? I am hoping it is a glitch, but if it wasn’t, seems abritrary to tack on additional $5.60 fees that were not meant to be. Anyone have inputs on this?
Trying to book flights SAN to DEN late June and into July. I too keep getting “Sorry, the promotion code entered cannot be validated…”. I cleared my cache, tried using Incognito, logged into my wife’s account, used the Microsoft browser instead of Chrome, no luck. I keep getting “Sorry”.
I also get errors for certain airports for certain days. Annoying.
Every flight I try to book says “sorry. This promo code is not applicable…”. All continental flights not on the blackout dates too.
Thanks. I had to mess around to redo my flights using different browsers, logging out of my account, clearing the cache, and using incognito for it to work and accept the code. Well worth the effort though for the 25% savings.
I had literally just booked 5 SW flights earlier today! Didn’t see the sale until your email came through. All rebooked, thanks for the savings!!
