Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
Southwest Airlines has announced an airfare sale from $39 each way. These sales are always a reminder to check your current reservations as you can sometimes re-book the same flights for less money/fewer points if they have decreased in price. I checked my reservations this morning and made a re-booking that saved me almost 9k RapidRewards points:
Remember that you can change bookings made with either cash or Rapid Rewards points. Cash bookings receive a travel voucher credit that expires 1 year from the date you made the initial booking and the travel voucher is non-transferable (it can only be used to book for the passenger named in the original reservation). Points are immediately refunded to your account with no expiration or restrictions.
Full terms and information about the sale can be found here.
Do you keep the same boarding position if you’ve paid for Early Bird?
My question also!
Saved $100 on a one way flight to Phoenix over Memorial Day weekend.
No, I believe you lose your early bird if you cancel and rebook. This is why I do not pay for early bird.
Thanks, just saved a few thousand SW miles 🙂
amazing post you got at this point what are everyone’s first thoughts with our page relating to

Thanks for the article Nick. You just saved me more than 10,000 Rapid Rewards on future trip that I was already booked for! Just as a side note, I would recommend that everybody book one way tickets on Southwest. The number of points is the same as a roundtrip ticket. It’s easier to make changes to one way tickets because the change won’t affect your other flight.
I second the one-way suggestion. It’s the only way to do it if you think you might check for a lower fare before departure.
I know this. Yet, my upcoming trip is 4 round trip tix. UGH. Why don’t I remember all these things when I go to redeem. 🙁
