Staples gift cards are back and better than ever! Currently Staples.com is surprising Staples’ Rewards members with deals valid for only 20 minutes.
The trick to getting these offers is to visit Staples.com, view an e-gift card, and keep the gift card view open for a minute or two until a black box appears with extra savings. For example, I viewed a $150 Kmart e-gift card and waited until a box appeared saying:
Save an extra $37.50 on this product! $112.50 in cart. Valid for 20 minutes
This trick doesn’t seem to work in the Chrome browser. It worked for me with Firefox. Other gift cards showed much smaller discounts. My understanding is that you must be a Staples’ Rewards member and logged into your account. Please report below if you find any other really good discounts.
Here are some ways to do even better:
- Go through uPromise or Shop Discover for 5% cash back.
- Pay with a Chase Ink card for 5 points per dollar, or Amex SimplyCash for 5% back. Or use an Amex card that’s enrolled in the Staples Sync promotion.
- Link your credit card to Plink and add Staples to your Plink account for $3 dollars worth of Plink points.
- Find a Dec 5 email from Staples titled “Free Gift!” and add the free gift to your order.

Seems $150 kmart had to have a $7.50 discount, but by mistake received $37.50
