Target has preempted Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days next week with a Circle Week event of their own this week. On the travel side of things, they’re giving the opportunity to save 20% on activities when booking with TripAdvisor Things To Do.
The Deal
- Save 20% on TripAdvisor Things To Do with a Target Circle offer.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Expires October 7, 2023.
- A Target Circle account is required.
- A promo code will be sent via email once this offer is claimed (it might take up to 30 minutes to arrive in your inbox).
Quick Thoughts
The way this works is that you have to click the ‘Redeem Now’ button on the landing page linked to above. That’ll route you through to TripAdvisor, but don’t book anything yet as the discount isn’t automatic. Instead, within half an hour (although it was less than that for me) you’ll receive a promo code via email which will give you that 20% discount.
If you’re not familiar with TripAdvisor Things To Do, my understanding is that it’s effectively the same thing as Viator (TripAdvisor owns Viator). Saving 20% could therefore be a useful discount, but there are potential stacking options too.
One is clicking through from a shopping portal. As I mentioned earlier, you initially need to click through to TripAdvisor from Target in order to activate the promotion and get the coupon code. However, once you have that code in your inbox, click back through to TripAdvisor from a shopping portal. It’s worth checking Capital One Shopping as they sometimes have targeted increased cashback rates for TripAdvisor in the double digits; be sure to check your emails too, as sometimes they send those targeted rates via email. Using the promo code from Target might invalidate your portal earnings seeing as that code isn’t listed on the portal, but it’s worth a try in case it does work.
There are also sometimes Chase Offers for TripAdvisor, so keep an eye out for those because that could earn you an extra 5%-10% back as a statement credit if they’re still floating around.
Although you need to redeem the code by October 7, it can be used for activities on any future date you like.
Worked great for booking an excursion for an upcoming free cruise next week. I’ll report back if RebatesMe pays out on the portal tracking with the code.
Unfortunately our cruise never made it to Cabo thanks to a hurricane so I had to cancel the excursion!
A good way to use this is for the various city passes that packages a number of attractions in major cities. You can buy now and choose which attractions to visit later.
Does the 20% off stack with the 10% off TA+ members already get?
