Sorry if this is posted incorrectly. I can’t find a thread specifically dedicated to this subject.
What are United’s rules re: RTW itineraries? I’m in Phila and am planning a trip to Phuket HKT and Chiang Rai CEI (CEI evidently has no Star Alliance flights so I have to get back to BKK on my own). I can fly eastbound thru LHR or westbound via SFO or LAX, but is it possible to book an RTW ticket all eastbound? My kids are in SFO and I’d like to do a stopover there on the way home.
So far on the United site I have found biz class routing of PHL-IAD-LHR-BKK-HKT. Should I continue it as an RTW booking, adding BKK-NRT-SFO-PHL, or just do it as a RT ticket? If I decide to try an RTW, do I have to use Multi-City and key in each leg?
