It’s worth frequently checking your Chase Offers as new ones seem to appear every day. One of the new ones is a targeted offer for Walgreens offering 10% back.

Walgreens Chase Offer

The Deal

  • Earn 10% back at Walgreens.

Key Terms

  • Must activate offer on card.
  • Expires December 14, 2018.
  • Maximum cashback of $5.
  • Excludes prescription purchases, alcohol, lottery, gift cards, licenses, money orders, money transfers, prepaid cards, stamps, or other mail services.

Quick Thoughts

The limit of $5 cashback means you’ll max out this Walgreens Chase Offer when spending $50. That’s not particularly generous, but it’s still worth taking advantage of if you’ll be shopping there.

Note that gift cards are excluded, although I’m not sure if they’re being as strict with enforcing that as they were when trialing Chase Offers. I recently bought Amazon gift cards using the Lowe’s Chase Offer for 10% back on up to $120 of spend. A few days later I received a confirmation email stating I’d successfully redeemed the offer. Having said that, the statement credit isn’t due to appear on my account for 7-14 days, so there’s a chance it won’t be credited.

Has anyone here been successful in triggering this Walgreens credit buying gift cards? I am not looking for data points about receiving the email or seeing it marked used in the app. I tried it with the Lowe’s offer on Monday but still no credit.

Only the Walgreen offer has this exclusion clause: Excludes prescription purchases, alcohol, lottery, gift cards, licenses, money orders, money transfers, prepaid cards, stamps, or other mail services.

Staples and lowes offer don’t have this limit.

I had been getting several offers on my various Chase Visas including this one. But yesterday was the first time I saw offers on my Chase Mastercard (IHG) – both this one and one for Petsmart.

Does Chase do offers on business cards like Amex, or is it just for personal?

Matthew

They could really step this up 100 notches by just allowing you to subscribe to new Chase Offer additions, via email, text, whatever. What kills it is having to open the app all the time just to NOT see what everyone else sees as far as offers go. I don’t get why you can’t go to the site to look at them. If you want mass usage, you plaster everything with it, especially if you don’t wanna have another “Discover Deals” situation on the horizon.

This is also the most annoying aspect of Amex offers, never knowing when you missed out on; but at least you can view them online and read all the restrictions more easily.

Matthew

That’s great to hear. Thanks Stephen, because calling them out in an email goes a long way towards them being used. Opening multiple credit card mobile apps a day to find an offer is not a fun experience, and it amounts to jumping through hoops to get to the goods, so I’m thankful this site points out the new opportunities as they crop up.

Weird! I redeemed several Chase offers (and my app shows them as redeemed) but no email.

One of them has been almost a week… But anyway, curious to hear when your statement credits start rolling in 🙂
