Follow along here!

Update 4/9/21: Unfortunately, despite the fact that many increased rates showed expiration dates of 4/30/21, the increased offers ended on 4/9/21. The large payout rates are no longer available.

Update 4/2/21: Note that some of the payouts that were scheduled to end on 3/31 have now been extended to 4/30/21, including Things Remembered 124X, Bloomingdales 27X, Charlotte Tilbury US 62X, Dior 41X, Crabtree & Evelyn 46X, Hugo Boss 27X, Kate Spade 27X, Lumens Light + Living 31X, Ashford 23x (great place to get a deal if you’re into nice watches and rarely pays out more than 6% via portals) – and many more (the ones expiring tomorrow are far from the only great rates – tons of stores are offering a lot of points). Remember that the “5x” promo runs until April 8th.It’s not only the airline shopping portals offering a chance to earn more rewards than normal right now.

The Wyndham Rewards portal is offering up to 5x the standard base points across most retailers available through the portal which is resulting in some excellent rates at popular retailers.

Quick Thoughts

Wyndham Rewards is currently running five weeks of deals and this is part of the second week’s offering. When checking through the full list of retailers and their rates, there are some fantastic earning opportunities available.

LifeLock is currently at 15,619 points which is enough points for a free night at thousands of Wyndham Rewards properties. I’d rather wait for Rakuten to return with a 100% offer for LifeLock seeing as I’d earn that in Membership Rewards, but this is still a solid offer.

There are excellent rates on lots of other retailers. Groupon is at 46 points per dollar spent which is a phenomenal return. Even if you only value Wyndham Rewards points at 0.7cpp as per their Reasonable Redemption Value, that’s a return of 32.2% which greatly exceeds the rate you’ll earn on any other shopping portal.

They’re offering 39x on 1-800 PetMeds non-prescription purchases which can be stacked with an Amex Offer giving $15 back on $100 of spend or a Chase Offer giving 15% back. There’s 27x for Bloomingdales, 23x for Nike, 19x for Macy’s, 15x for Dell and much more.

Another notable rate is 11x for Apple. We occasionally see portal rate increases for Apple, but they tend to only last for one day which means that if you don’t immediately jump on the rate increase, it’s gone. Wyndham Rewards is advertising these rate increases as being valid through April 8, so if they really do maintain these high rates for the next month, that’s a lot of time to rack up a ton of bonus points.

I just wanted to provide a data point for how the timing of my purchase worked out.

3/21: make Groupon purchase and immediately receive pending points email from Wyndham Shopping, but instead of 46x points pending, it’s for the base rate

Around 3/28: submit ticket on the portal asking for extra points

5/7: base points get deposited into my account

8/10 (today): receive two emails one after the other, one that the rest of my points are pending and another that those points are approved

I had completely written off these points so I’m glad that I’m apparently going to be getting them, but the fact that it took this many months to resolve is ridiculous.

Nathan

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for points for to become redeemable?

Just noticed wyndham rewards shopping portal is at 15x for Samsung till tomorrow. Could be a nice stack with the $200 amex credit

Is anyone brave enough to try out Things Remembered earning 124 points/dollar? They sell personalized items including sterling silver, watches, etc. If you could really get ~$.85 in Wyndham value from a purchase of some sterling silver or something else you could potentially sell off … could be quite a good deal.

Nomi

i tried it, points showed up 30x instead of 124. No real support from the shopping portal. sent the email 2 days ago, have not heard back yet. if i don’t get 124x then returning stuff, that stuff is almost 2x priced. Just make sure you don’t personalize stuff. if you personalize, you get credit only.

Bummer, I am not terribly surprised that it is not paying out at that high rate but disappointing regardless. I hope for your sake they make it right, but I am not looking for more hassle and will probably skip this deal.

Nomi

never got any response from Wyndham shopping portal , I just got 30x instead of 124x. Will return everythng

Nathan

I also ordered something after seeing the offer and it is now pending at 30x as well. I just submitted my case on their website.

Another offer for 15 points/$ I made a lot of orders with are all showing pending for slightly more points than anticipated – so it will be interesting to see how this actually works out.

I wasn’t ordering anything just for the points so won’t be returning anything.

Nomi

You won’t get any response from their websites. contacted few times and 3 weeks and no response.

Eric

Does anyone have any data points on Wyndham actually paying out points for portal use? I don’t have any experience with them but thinking about going big on this deal.

Stephen Pepper

The portal is run by Collinson which also runs the JetBlue, Emirates and Choice portals. I’ve never heard negative data points, but that might be because their portals aren’t as popular.
