Quick Thoughts

This could be a good deal if you have a way to use the Visa or Mastercard gift cards or are just looking to time-shift some spend by buying these now to use later.

I’m not aware of any specific category bonuses at play here and I would expect that Amex purchases may not earn any points or credit toward spend-based bonuses.

It’s also worth noting that a commenter at GC Galore indicates that they have run into a number of websites that won’t seem to accept the cards or where the issuer is blocking the transaction. It therefore might be worth buying one and making sure that it works where you need it to work before getting a bunch of cards.

H/T: GC Galore

They work to buy AARP cruise line gift cards for the discount.

Has anyone found ANY place where these gift cards are accepted? Got a no for paying the IRS via payUSAtax and in trying to pay a utility bill.

Rob

FWIW, I finally was able to utilize the card at USAA.
