There was a new targeted Amex Offer out yesterday that’ll be of interest for those who enjoy luxury stays: Spend $750+ at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in the United States, get 15,000 Membership Rewards points. That’s a great offer if you’re planning a stay at a Four Seasons as I don’t often see opportunities to score a discount at Four Seaons.
The Deal
- Spend $750+ at a Four Seasons Hotel or Resort in the US, get 15,000 Membership Rewards points with targeted Amex Offer
Key Terms
- Valid until 10/10/18
- Only valid at US properties
- Excludes Four Seasons Gift Cards
- Terms state reservations must be made at fourseasons.com or in-person (though that may not be entirely true – see below)
- See your offer for full terms
Quick Thoughts
If you have a stay planned at a Four Seasons, this is an excellent offer. According to our Reasonable Redemption Values, 15K Membership Rewards points are worth around $273. That said, you could certainly get a lot more value out of them depending on your use. At first glance, that’s more than enough for a one-way saver-level economy class ticket in the US with several Amex transfer partners, and it’s even enough for a short-distance round trip flight in some cases.
The terms state that reservations must be made online through fourseasons.com (and it specifically excludes foreign versions of the site or transactions not charged in USD) or in-person. I find it odd that the terms seem to exclude phone reservations.
However, in the past, I’ve had success triggering similar Amex Offers on bookings through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts. Unlike bookings through Amex Travel, Fine Hotels & Resorts bookings are charged directly by the property and are usually paid at check-out, thus I am reasonably confident that a booking made through FHR would trigger this offer.
If it does, you can stack some decent benefits. For example, at the Four Seasons in Las Vegas, you could enjoy daily breakfast for two, guaranteed late checkout, a $100 spa credit and more.
And room rates in Vegas dip pretty low in the fall.
You could enjoy a pretty low rate for a few nights and a nice rebate in terms of Membership Rewards points.
Rates dip even further in November. Unfortunately, this offer expires in October. I don’t know whether or not my trick from yesterday morning’s post may work for a stay outside of the offer window, but it’s a thought. Since they did not expressly include phone bookings, I’m not sure I’d try that. But if you did, like I said, rates do drop even further.
H/T: One Mile at a Time
Do you know if these’s a cash ($150) version of the offer?
What happens if you walk up to the front desk at a Four Seasons and purchase $750 worth of gift cards and they are rung up there at the front desk of the hotel. Would that work? It says in the fine print that it excludes gift cards purchased online and e-gift cards. What do you think?
