I am really not in need of AA miles but I am wondering wether to take advantage of it or not. I saw some nice rooms at W that were going for $260 that only need 12k SPG points. Even with this bonus I still think SPG points are more valuable

Frequent Miler

I agree. Don’t do it unless you need the AA miles

jonny

is there a way to buy 5k starwood points so I will have 20k starwood points to turn in to 30k AA miles. if the 5k starwood points cost too much, I wouldn’t do it

Frequent Miler

Yes, but its not worth it

jonny

i have 15k starwood points and have no spg card. i guess i can’t transfer?

Frequent Miler

You can transfer 15K and you’ll get the 20% bonus (3K), but not the automatic bonus that you get when you transfer 20K. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you need those miles right away (even then, it takes up to a week for the transfer to complete)
