The Citi Prestige card has all along had the benefit of making your ThankYou points worth up to 1.33 cents towards airfare. Now, thanks to a reader tip, I’ve learned that points are worth up to 1.6 cents each towards airfare on American Airlines and US Airways!
Note that I say points are worth “up to” 1.6 cents each because the ThankYou travel center sometimes prices flights a bit higher than the best available fare found elsewhere. Usually the difference is quite small, however.
I have no idea if this is a permanent enhancement to the Prestige card or a temporary promotion. If it is permanent then my hat is off to Citi for adding a great new benefit to this card.
Note that the Prestige card is different from the similarly named Premier card. With the Premier card, points are worth 1.25 cents per point towards flights.
