While the partnership between Uber & American Express has been around awhile, a new code has emerged offering $30 off of the first ride for new members. Existing members can earn 2X Membership Rewards points if they use an eligible card to pay for their ride.
The Offer
Get up to $30 off your first ride with promo code UBERAMEX. Download the app and enter the promo code when signing up.
Key Terms
- Promo code must be applied to your Uber account prior to taking first Uber ride.
- Discount only applicable to fares paid for with an American Express Card and will only apply to new users who use their account to pay for their first Uber ride.
- If you have signed up for Uber but have never used your account to pay for a ride, you may apply the promo code to your account.
- Up to $30 will be discounted by Uber at the point of sale.
- If the cost of the ride is less than $30, you will only receive a discount up to the amount of the ride.
- Not valid with any other Uber-issued offers.
- Limit one discount per person. This offer is valid on all vehicle options, excluding uberT.
- Offer expires on July 31, 2018.
- Available in U.S. only.

Does this deal expire 7/2017 or 7/2018? The “last chance” email says 2017 but here it says 2018.
Don’t count on it. They charged me and I have not seen the discount. I emailed Uber about it and they have not bothered to answer. There is no phone number for Uber and they have no live customer service. It’s a lousy company. Don’t bother.

I just signed up for an Uber account and followed your instructions of inputting the UBERAMEX for a $30 off the first ride. The response was
“$20 off. Free trip up to $20 from Francisco”.
What happened to the $30 promo and who is Francisco.
Maybe y’all will laugh, but can I use my bluebird? I don’t have any amex cards yet and bluebird hasn’t bern shut down (only use it for deals and transferring bank stuff between accounts)
