Follow along here!

Frequent Miler has been nominated as a contender for Best Miles-and-Points Blog in USA Today’s latest 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest!

Vote Frequent MilerReaders can vote for Frequent Miler here.  Each person may vote up to once per day through November 7th.

A rocky start…

I first received news of the nomination on October 10th.  I posted immediately on Facebook:

And, later on Twitter:

These social media postings were enough to propel me to #1, but only for a few days.  Soon other contenders posted pleas to their readers, and Frequent Miler slowly dropped down the list.  Meanwhile, I was far from the campaign trail, at Necker Island…

Building my Campaign Team on Necker Island

I thought I could build support for my campaign on Necker Island, but it didn’t work out as planned.  Richard Branson made it clear that he would rather choke me than endorse me:

Vote Frequent Miler even if Richard won't

The Lemurs were sympathetic, but they had other favorites…

Vote Frequent Miler or Miles to Memories -- that's a great blog too

Finally, one way or another, I got the tortoise on board…

Vote Frequent Miler

Unfortunately, the tortoise has been slow to spread the word.

Going Negative?

My campaign advisor has been pressing me to go negative.  He thinks I should highlight the differences between the Frequent Miler blog and other contenders.  He even had this poster designed:

Vote Frequent Miler

But, I refused to play along with this negative and misleading campaign.  I ended up firing my campaign manager.  He took the news hard, turned to drink, and could barely dress himself each morning…

Vote Frequent Miler

Finally, after begging for his job back, I re-hired him… and gave him a treat.

Please Vote… Often

Joking aside, I won’t lie — I would be incredibly excited to win this one.  If you like this blog, please help by voting.  Remember that you can vote every day until November 7th.

Personally, I setup a reminder on my calendar so that I’d remember to vote every day.  I tried to set one up to be shared, but it doesn’t seem to carry over the “repeat every day until November 7th” part.  Still, if you want to get started with a Google calendar invite, click here.  Change the “repeat” option to repeat daily through November 7th.

Thank You!

You should run for President of the US on a platform of putting all government spending on a credit card, paying social security with reloadable debit cards, and replacing currency with money orders. You would get a lot of votes here!

Maria

Congrats on the nomination. Definitely one of my favorite blogs.

Ryan

Got my vote. Heck I’d gladly vote for you for US President over any of the fools actually on the ballot!

Michael

What a shill. Please vote for me! Vote numerous times. Please, it reeks of desperation.

There are more than two candidates running for president, maybe you should inform ppl of that instead of being a slave to the 2 party good ol boy machine.

Poorly disguised political ad. Yuck!

Dee

Very clever post, Greg! You got my vote. Good luck!!
