Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced via Facebook that they will be offering a Black Friday sale on gift cards that will be good for a 15% bonus on the face value of gift card purchased between 2pm-5pm Eastern time on Friday, November 24th. They have offered a better bonus in previous years, but those with paid Fairmont stays will probably be happy to get a discount on up to $5,000 in gift cards.
The Deal
- 15% bonus when buying Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Gift Cards on Friday, November 24th between 2pm-5pm Eastern time.
- Direct link to buy gift cards (remember bonus is live 11/24 from 2pm-5pm)
Key Terms
- One purchase per person for a maximum of $5,000 in gift cards (which will become $5,750 with the bonus)
- Each gift card has a maximum value of $2,000 (so you would need to buy multiple cards in a single transaction to reach the maximum)
Quick Thoughts
If you have paid Fairmont stays in your future, this would be a good way to save a few bucks. Greg’s trip to the Fairmont Grand del Mar earlier this year looked pretty awesome — and he did use some Fairmont gift cards from a previous deal to save money on meals and incidentals.
In fact, as I understand it, you can use Fairmont gift cards for dining and spa services even if you’re not staying at the hotel (YMMV, this may be location-dependent). In that case, you could save some money on a fancy dinner for a special occasion — something I might consider if I lived close to a resort and wouldn’t otherwise stay there.
Bottom line
I don’t see any paid Fairmont stays in my near future, so I’ll be sitting this one out, but I imagine some readers will be glad to get a 15% bonus on gift cards. The fact that this deal comes out in the afternoon means it doesn’t have to interfere with other Black Friday shopping, which should make it relatively easy get this discount for those interested.
