(EXPIRED) 10x miles for IHG stays – book by 7/13

The AAdvantage eShopping portal has been running a promo for extra miles at select retailers all week, with several retailers offering payouts of 10 miles per dollar. One of the more interesting options is IHG Hotels as you can earn 10 American Airlines miles per dollar on IHG stays booked by tomorrow (7/13/18).

Quick Thoughts

While the other stores with increased payouts (10x Macy’s / Neiman Marcus, 15x eBags, 6x Dell, etc) certainly may be of interest if you have a purchase to make, the IHG offer is probably the most interesting as I don’t ever recall seeing a mileage payout like this for IHG. Indeed, the highest mileage payout we’ve seen in the past 15 months for IHG has been 7x.

The value of this offer will ultimately come down to your value of American Airlines miles. If you have a number of stays to book, they could certainly add up quickly through this offer. Keep in mind that there are some restrictions — the terms exclude booking on a corporate rate or with a coupon code not found on the AAdvantage eShopping site.

Theoretically, this ought to be valid for your stay regardless of the date, though I’d reasonably expect that the farther out you push it the more likely that you experience some sort of snag in getting paid out. If you intend to book far out with this offer, I would recommend keeping screen shots and confirmation emails.

This certainly should stack with any current targeted Accelerate promo you’re working on for IHG, which could mean quite a return on your hotel spend when stacked together.
