Quick Thoughts
The two conferences being held in Chicago this year are each offering something a little bit different, including some different speakers, a different price point and some different additional ancillary differences.
Chicago Seminars Hyatt Regency O’Hare organizers share some 2024 highlights:
2024 Event Highlights
- Venue Upgrade: Moving to the Hyatt Regency O’Hare for better accessibility and value in light of rising costs at the Holiday Inn Chicago Elk Grove Village.
- Program: Expect a mix of sessions from expert speakers, opportunities for networking, and a diverse range of topics.
- Community-Driven Event: Chicago Seminars has always been a community-driven and volunteer-run event. This year, we’re taking a step further in introducing an open Call for Presentations, inviting participants to suggest or even present topics.
- Charity: Chicago Seminars continues its long standing tradition of giving back to the community. Last year, the event raised over $15,000 for our charity partners.
Organizers of this event explain that the move to the Hyatt Regency O’Hare was in response to attendee feedback in order to accommodate a desire for a “more modern and conveniently-located venue”. A Hyatt will appeal to those chasing elite nights for obvious reasons and the Regency O’Hare is certainly closer to the airport for those arriving at O’Hare.
The event page lists 2024 speakers to be announced soon. Speakers and topics from the 2023 iteration of this conference can be found on the website. Unfortunately, the Frequent Miler team won’t be able to make it to this event this year, but I’m sure it’ll be a great event.
If you’re interested in expanding your knowledge in miles and points and honing your skills, I think attending a conference like the Chicago Seminars can be a terrific investment. When I first got started in miles and points, I thought I had learned a lot and then I met a friend who told me about a conference like the Chicago Seminars. My wife and I attended FTU and my mind was blown because there were so many things I had been missing despite having read blogs for a while. In fact, we learned so much at the first one we attended, that we flew across the country to attend another conference just a couple of months later. Obviously how much you’ll learn will vary with the knowledge base with which you start and your comfort level in building connections with a new network, but even for those more advanced in the game I find these conferences useful for the networking. The Chicago Seminars in particular often attract a crowd that is an interesting mix between beginners and people who have been in this game since before you thought the game existed.
We will be publishing posts about both Fall 2024 Chicago conferences today. Along with ZorkFest 2024 in Las Vegas from November 1st to the 3rd, there are quite a few options for miles and points conferences this fall.
Hi Nick, I am excited to be going to the 14th annual Chicago Seminars and am very new to the learning about credit cards and points. Do you happen to know anyone who could advise please when the list of 2024 speakers shall be announced on the chicagoseminars.org website? Thanks!
Hey Kelly, I just wanted to let you know the list of topics and speakers are up on the Chicago Seminars website in case you hadn’t seen it.
Thanks Lenny!
Nick- dates incorrect in headline. Its Sep. 20-22, not 22-24.
Whoops! Thank you for commenting. Fixed.
