Key Terms

  • Basically excludes everything except airfare originating in the US charged in US Dollars and booked directly through Air France or KLM
  • See offer for full details

Quick Thoughts

This could be a fantastic deal if you’ll be booking flights with Air France or KLM as it is a significant rebate if you’re able to meet the spend. This return will stack with your mileage earning from the flight itself, which could be decent when credited to either Flying Blue (which is doubling elite credit on paid flights this year) or to Delta. The deal could be sweetened even further if you’re booking flights and applying Delta Global Upgrade Certificates — paying for economy class and upgrading to business and getting a better in-flight experience on top of everything else.

The 20K points from this offer would often be enough to cover an economy class ticket to Europe through Flying Blue Promo Rewards or they could even get you a domestic round trip flight depending on which Membership Rewards sweet spots you utilize.

If you are able to book or upgrade to business class, I have to say that I was particularly impressed with KLM’s new 787 business class. The seats were comfortable and while familiar they included some thoughtful touches that made it one of the better business class seats I’ve flown. From well-placed storage for your phone and easy-access international outlets to a nice privacy shield, it was really quite good.

And don’t forget that flying KLM you’ll also get a Delft blue house. When the couple seated to my left turned theirs down on the flight to the US, I very nearly asked them if I could have their selections, but I held off figuring that I need to collect them on my own. It’s a fun gimmick. Again, these are only available for business class passengers on intercontinental business class trips.

Overall, this offer is a solid deal that’s worth syncing up if you’ll be booking a qualifying itinerary this month.

Would this work on buying an ticket that you plan to cancel for a travel voucher to use at a later point?

DaninMCI

Yes that should work but those vouchers do expire, of course.

That’s a fantastic offer and I see it in my amex platinum offers. Bummer that the flight has to originate in the US. I have a trip to Madrid (from DC) in April 2022 and I already booked the outbound with Iberia. I was looking to book AF on the return and this would have been sweet. Except that the return ticket will originate in Madrid.

Is it possible to book domestic Delta flights via either AF or KLM’s website?

Rich

Can you use an Air France or KLM travel voucher on Delta?

Halfrikan

This is the real question

I have this offer. I look at it as being worth at least 1.5 cents each so this is like a $300 rebate on $1k spend.
