The AA Loyalty Games are on like Donkey Kong! There is a new Chase offer for $25 back on $25 spend with Visibile Wireless. Visible is a service owned by Verizon that uses Verizon’s network, but offers unlimited data and hotspot usage. Wireless plans start at $40, but there is a new customer discount that brings the first-month cost down to $25, making the first month free.
This is a nice deal if you happen to need a burner number, but what makes it particularly attractive for the rest of us is that Visible is on the Aadvantage shopping portal with a 2000 mile bonus, a pretty nice haul for no out-of-pocket spend.
The Chase offer appeared on my Ink Cash and might be just for business cards. The terms of both offers state that you need to port in an existing number to Visible AND it cannot be used towards a current monthly payment (new customers only). Still, it could be worth a shot if you’re already using Visible, just to see if the offer tracks. January always seems to be portal bonus month, so it may be worth waiting a wee bit to see if anything worthwhile lands in the next week or two.
@tim did you sign up? Let us know if you’re credited!
I did. Instead of trying the Google Voice route, I created a new line and had Visible send me a free sim for activation. Officially, you have to move exisiting coverage over, but all the pricing is the same, so we’ll see if this tracks. DP’s seem to be mixed. I’ll keep you updated!
yes, please keep us posted.
Triggered the Chase offer and the AA portal offer after setting up a new number and activating the SIM card on an old phone. That said, I have seen other DP’s for folks that it didn’t work for, so YMMV.
Has anyone had an issue where it tells them to complete the sign-up through the app? That would negate the bonus for the shopping portal…
Found a $5 off 1st month Visible offer in my PayPal account under “Deals”, just a heads up.
Thanks Josh!
[…] Update 1/9/22: Available again through 2/15/22. Stack with portal for $20 back or 2,000 AA miles or other options. Hat tip to Frequentmiler […]
Terms say: You will only be eligible for rewards after Visible has confirmed you have activated Visible service and have maintained service continually for at least 60 days.
So don’t think we could actually say this would be no out of pocket spend, sounds like you would at least have to do a second month at $50 for the 2K pts.
In past offers, there have been DP’s of miles getting awarded after the initial purchase, but you’re right, this could be a YMMV situation. I’ll let you know for sure in a couple weeks! 🙂
The AA terms say you must port a number to get the points, not get a burner number. Anyone know whether this is really checked?
I’ve seen data points that both SIM cards (as Jeff says below) and Google Voice numbers both work to trigger the credit.
Is available on personal cards. Verified will credit on normal monthly charge.
You can get first month for $5 via referral, subsequent months for $25 via Reddit party pay. Not sure if $5 charge will trigger credit, but it’s literally a 1st mo charge. After 3mo on plan you are eligible for some of their deals (phones etc). I believe phone unlock policy is 60 days. Google voice has worked in the past for port in, think that’s dead though. Can buy ting sim off eBay for a couple bucks, I believe that’ll work.
That’s great info, thanks Jeff. I’ve seen DPs that Google Voice is triggering this one, but as always YMMV.
Um, this is too much work. If EXP is worth say $5,000, and this earns 1% of EXP, that means you are valuing your time at $50 to jump through all of these hoops.
I hear you, Gene. This is the third time this deal has come around this year (although this is the first time that it’s been in the AA portal to my knowledge). There are mixed DP’s with success at using a Google Voice number, and in some cases not even porting in a number. Several folks have had luck just using other Sim’s as Jeff notes above.
