TopCashBack is offering a 5% bonus when you cash out via American Express gift card. That’s awesome since it gives you a chance to boost the purchasing power of your cash back balance — and also to lock in that 5% bonus for third party merchant gift cards since you could cash out for the Amex Gift Card and then use it to buy 3rd party gift cards.
The Deal
- TopCashBack is offering a 5% bonus when you cash out to receive an Amex Gift Card
Key Details
- Available for a limited time only
Quick Thoughts
As noted at the top, the 5% bonus here enables you to stretch the value of your cash back just a bit further. That’s great because, in addition to being able to use your Amex Gift Card for for regular purchases, you could use it to purchase other merchant gift cards, whether directly from those merchants or from discount outlets like Raise, allowing you to stack a little more savings.
For example, let’s say that Raise has a gift card you really want for 10% off of its face value and let’s further say that they have a $116.67 gift card for that merchant. If Raise offers 10% off of face value, that gift card would sell for $105.
- $116.67 gift card – 10% off = $105
If you have $100 in TopCashBack cash, you could redeem your $100 in TopCashBack cash for a $105 Amex Gift card with the 5% bonus. Then, use your $105 Amex Gift Card to buy the $116.67 gift card you really want, thereby netting yourself a 14.2% discount on the face value (sort of). Also easy: use your Amex GC to buy an Amazon GC and call it a win. Note that you could alternatively cash out for a Visa Gift Card with a 4% bonus.
If you have a TopCashBack balance running, this would be a good time to cash some out.

Anyone know what type of VCG’s they pay out with?
I have consolidated down to the more professional portals and TopCashBack isn’t among them.I might get 3% instead of 4% sometimes but at least I actually get the cashback!
I spent too much time following up to bother with this outfit for a few extra pennies.
+1
Why are bloggers promoting this crap site?
