The Deal

  • Citi has a new Merchant Offer out that’s good for $50 back on $250 at JetBlue that’s valid one time by 5/31/23

Key Terms

  • Expires 5/31/23
  • Valid one time

Quick Thoughts

This is obviously a nice deal if you intend to book a JetBlue flight between now and the end of May, though keep in mind that Citi no longer offers any sort of travel protections — so you won’t get trip delay / cancellation protection or even baggage delay protection when booking with a Citi card.

If you have the Citi prestige card with a $250 credit – find a ticket for as close to $250. Say you hit the nail on the head at $250. You’ll basically get a $250 jet blue credit for a net money maker of $50. Not sure how Citi handles the 5 pts / $ on air when the travel credit is used but it could also come with 1250 Citi points. Great use of the Citi travel credit.

Johnny

Possible to book, get $50, cancel, and bank credit?

Grant

Not sure if Citi would claw it back but you can always book a refundable ticket. I doubt they’d be keeping tabs weeks or months down the line, especially if it’s after your statement generated.

Paul

Do you know if round trip ticket is charged in one transaction or two?
