$50 back on $250 or more at Alamo with new Amex Offer [targeted, enrollment required]

There’s a new Amex Offer out today for Alamo Rent-a-Car that’s good for $50 back on $250 or more. While I generally prefer to pay for rentals with a credit card that offers primary CDW (see our comparison of ultra-premium credit card travel protections here), I’m sure that this offer will work out right for some.

The Deal

• A new targeted Amex Offer for Alamo Rent-a-Car is good for $50 back when you spend $250 or more at Alamo US Locations [enrollment required]

Key Terms

• Offer valid only for vehicle rental reservations booked directly with Alamo Rent-a-Car in-person at US locations, online at US website alamo.com, or through the Alamo US mobile app.
• Rentals must be completed and paid for by 3/7/2025 in order to qualify.
• Must pick up and return rental to Alamo Rent-a-Car US locations only.
• Not valid for bookings made through travel agents or affiliate booking sites.
• Excludes e-Tolls, Meetings & Group Rentals, General Aviation/FBO Rentals, Tour Operator bookings, Enterprise Car Sales, and purchases with Travel Partners (such as Airfare, Train, Hotel).
• Standard rental qualifications apply.
• Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance.
• Drivers under age 25 may have to pay higher rates.
• Remember to check your insurance policy and/or credit card for rental vehicle coverage.
• Offer valid only on purchases made in US dollars.

Quick Thoughts

There’s some nice potential savings here, but keep in mind that it’s only valid in the US, you need to book directly, and consider whether the Amex secondary rental car coverage meets your needs. The savings here is enough that in some situations, you may even still come out ahead paying for insurance.
