5K bonus points for Atmos Summit card waitlisters extended

When Alaska Airlines announced last year that they’d be releasing a premium card, they opened a waitlist that people interested in the card could register for. You earned 500 bonus points just for joining the waitlist, then you were eligible for an additional 5,000 bonus points when the card launched if you applied for it and were approved.

The card launched a couple of months ago and those on the waitlist were given 14 days to apply in order to earn the additional 5,000 Atmos Rewards points. If you procrastinated on applying, all is not lost – you might still be able to earn those bonus points.

Alaska Airlines Atmos Summit 105,000 points offer

Disappointingly, despite being the one to write about the waitlist, I apparently forgot to join it myself. It turns out that I had remembered to register my wife though and she’d gotten an invite on August 25 to earn a total of 105,000 bonus points. The 14 day eligibility period came and went and we never had her apply for the card.

I wasn’t overly worried seeing as the welcome offer itself was still 100,000 bonus points, so we’d only be missing out on 5,000 additional points. However, I was pleasantly surprised when she received an email last week headed with the subject line ‘Earn 105,000 bonus points + 25,000-point Global Companion Award.’

The email itself stated the following:

Due to popular demand, we’re extending our limited-time bonus offer on the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card, which includes your pre-registration bonus of 5,000 points upon card approval. Plus, earn an additional 100,000 bonus points and a 25,000-point Global Companion Award after you spend $6,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.

What’s not clear is how long this extension is valid for. The email doesn’t list an end date, nor does the application page when clicking through. I guess it’s my sign that we probably shouldn’t procrastinate on this offer any longer.

If you’d registered for the waitlist and never got around to applying for the card, but didn’t get an email last week inviting you to still earn 5,000 bonus points, it’d be worth checking your original email invite in case you’re still able to earn a total of 105,000 bonus points nonetheless.
