Rakuten is offering 8x / 8% back on purchases at Dell today. While not at a historical high level, this is a much better payout than what we’ve seen lately and it could stack well with several Amex Offers and the Business Platinum’s $200 in credits for Dell purchases from July to December 2020.

Quick Thoughts
As noted at the top, this could be a decent chance to use the Business Platinum’s $200 credit, though (if I hadn’t already needed to buy something from Dell this month), I would think it may be more beneficial yet to wait until the holiday shopping sales come around to use that credit.
If you do need something at Dell now, keep in mind that there are a few potentially stacking Amex Offers (and you will likely want to make sure that your Rakuten account is set up to earn Membership Rewards points as noted above). I have all of these offers on my Business Platinum and all of them triggered with my recent Dell purchase (note that Amex may later claw these back — there’s no way for me to turn any of them off, so all I can do is hope they stick):
- 10% back at Dell (up to $1500 back)
- +4x Membership Rewards points at Dell
- +1x Membership Rewards points at Dell
Again, I don’t know that they’ll stick — but I bought something that was credited back via the Platinnum credit, I got 10% back, and I earned a total of 6x on top of the Rakuten portal. That’s a pretty good stack if it works.
The stack that you mentioned worked for me last month. What sale are you referring to? My American Express stacks start to drop off later this month and I’d like to get as much benefit as possible.
