(EXPIRED) 9% back on Hertz, 10% choice, 9% IHG via Ibotta

The Ibotta app has a number of deals on travel sites available today, including 9% cash back at Hertz, 10% back at Choice Hotels, and 8% back at IHG.

The Deal

• The Ibotta app is offering increased cash back rates at several travel brands including:
  • 10% back at Choice Hotels
  • 9% back at Hertz
  • 8% back at IHG
• Additionally, some may see a targeted bonus of a $10 bonus on a booking of $125 or more (with Choice Hotels in my case)

Key Terms

• See terms for each offer in the app. For example, the Hertz offer is only valid on “purchases in the United States” (presumably rentals in the US) and purchases made per (1) shopping trip. Check each retailer separately

Quick Thoughts

The Ibotta app runs these types of increased offers now and then, though I don’t recall seeing Hertz included previously. The Choice and IHG deals come around now and again (with IHG occasionally going as high as 10% also).

In my case, I was targeted for a further bonus of $10 back with a booking of $125 or more with Choice Hotels. If I were to make a $125 booking, I would therefore get a total of $22.50 back, which is a return of 18%. Keep in mind that I’d also earn Choice points and qualify for Choice promotions since I would be booking directly with choice (just through Ibotta’s link).

While these promos wouldn’t encourage me to make a booking I didn’t already have in mind, it’s certainly worth comparing here against rates at CashBackMonitor if you’re looking to make a booking today.
