Hilton has a little-known partnership with the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA). It offers current and former military members up to 100,000 Hilton Honors points to assist them with transitioning out of the military into a new job.
You can find full details of the partnership here. The way it works is that Hilton will offer up to 100k points to assist eligible members in their search for a new job where they have to travel for:
- Verifiable job interviews
- Training to gain certification or to obtain or keep a job
- Testing before employment (e.g. physicals, agility tests, drug testing, etc.)
There are some scenarios that aren’t eligible for receiving these free points, such as attending job fairs, conferences, relocating to another area and more. The partnership also doesn’t award points to reimburse you for past stays booked with Hilton points, nor do they guarantee that you’ll be awarded any points in the first place.
If you’re active duty military, you have to be in the process of transitioning in order to be eligible. You also need to either currently be living in or moving to one of the following states:
- Alabama
- Alaska
- Arizona
- California
- Colorado
- Connecticut
- Florida
- Idaho
- Indiana
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Maine
- Massachusetts
- Maryland
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- Montana
- Nevada
- New Hampshire
- New Mexico
- North Carolina
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- Utah
- Virginia
- Texas
- Tennessee
- Vermont
- Washington
- West Virginia
- Wisconsin
- Wyoming
If you think that you might qualify for this program, to apply you can email HiltonHonors@naswa.org or contact your local American Job Center – you can search for that here. As part of your application, you’ll need to share the reason that you’re asking for points, which state you currently live in and the name of the state you’re planning to relocate to if applicable.
