Quick Thoughts
As mentioned above, Delta and Hilton have run a number of joint promotions over the past 18 months or so, including:
- Earn 1,000 bonus Delta SkyMiles on up to 3 Hilton stays
- Earn 1,000 Hilton Honors points when flying Delta premium cabins
- Hilton Honors / Delta status match promotion
This latest offer was sent out to members of the Hilton for Business program, but you can presumably enroll in the promotion even if you’re not a Hilton for Business member seeing as it’s using a generic (rather than targeted) promo code.
The way is works is that you register for SkyMiles for Business with Delta using the SM4BHLTN promo code. If you book an eligible flight (see the terms above for details) and fly it within 90 days of registering, you’ll earn a $50 Delta e-credit that’s good for 12 months from the date it’s issued. That’s a pretty good reward, especially if you’re needing to book a flight with Delta anyway.
In case you’re not familiar with Delta for Business, it’s Delta’s program to incentivize business owners to book flights with them. The person taking the flight still earns SkyMiles, Medallion Qualification Dollars, etc. as normal, but the company can earn too.
For a company at the entry Member level, benefits are limited. Companies that have 5+ business travelers and spend $5,000 or more in a calendar year will reach Plus status which gains the ability to earn and transfer miles, earn further e-credits, gift Silver Medallion status and more. Companies that have 5+ business travelers and spend $300,000 or more in a calendar year will earn even more miles on each flight their employees take, in addition to all the benefits that companies with Plus status receive.
For companies spending $300K+ a year, a $50 incentive is a drop in the bucket. For smaller businesses though – especially those that won’t even spend $5,000 on Delta flights each year – it’s a nice little incentive to join.

Do basic economy ticket bookings count?
Does this work for sole proprietors? Terms state that you need Federal Tax ID number.
