On September 1, 2025, Bilt offered a 40%-100% transfer bonus to Virgin Red, but rather than the transfer being based on your Bilt Rewards status level, your exact percentage was targeted. The bonus baseline was higher than normal though.
In addition to that, Bilt launched a new, ongoing status match with Virgin Voyages.

Virgin Voyages status match
Bilt now offers a status match to Virgin Voyages. Rather than this being a Rent Day deal that’s only available on a single day, it’s an ongoing benefit as part of the Bilt Rewards program.
Those with Silver and Gold status with Bilt will be matched to Blue Extras status with Virgin Voyages, while Platinum members will be matched to Deep Blue Extras. Benefits for Blue Extras members seem somewhat limited, but Deep Blue Extras status could be a very nice benefit for Platinum members when cruising with Virgin Voyages. That’s because it includes a $100 bar tab credit, unlimited premium WiFi, priority boarding, some complimentary laundry items and more.

Virgin Red transfer bonus
Bilt transfer bonuses normally have different bonus tiers based on your status in the Bilt Rewards program. This latest transfer bonus doesn’t have that setup, instead replacing it with a targeted bonus that you could see when logged into your account on September 1, 2025.
On the positive side of things, Bilt advised that the minimum bonus would be 40%. For those with base level Blue status, that’s a great percentage and was higher than their normal bonus level for those without higher status.
However, I’d question the wisdom of Bilt taking this targeted approach more frequently. If transfer bonus thresholds become detached from status levels on Rent Day each month, that’d remove a key incentive for earning Bilt status. With this offer, it seemed like Platinum members were generally targeted for higher transfer bonus percentages and those with lower status levels were targeted for lower bonus levels, but there were some exceptions. However, if you can’t be assured that you’ll be eligible for higher bonuses when Bilt offers transfer bonuses, will the effort of earning Platinum status be worth it in the future?

HA! True. And no, I have no flights on VS. I HAD tried to get a close-in NH flight showing avail on UA, but despite calling VS 3x in 1 week, they kept saying they didn’t access to the seat. I’m sure those J seats are still available this week. Which reminds me maybe.. I SHOULD CALL rn?

Just submitted my request for the Virgin Voyages status match. Here is how to find it in the Bilt app:
* Click on Status in the upper left corner
* Click the Your Status tile
* Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on Virgin Voyages elite status match
* Complete the status match request and wait for an email when the match has been processed
Did yours say active until Dec 2025?
That is what it shows, but my request is still processing. I am assuming I will get an email from Bilt or Virgin Voyages sometime this week with more details.

Gold. Targeted for 40%. this is the second time i’ve had either platinum or gold status and gotten the lowest transfer bonus offered. Gold will be more of a stretch this year while meeting the spend on the reserve business sub. With these terrible targeted bonuses i don’t know that i want to bother.
Is Virgin Voyages Blue Extras status worth anything if I don’t have plans to cruise with VV in the next year? Can that status be matched to another cruise status for any benefit?
I’m not sure about matching to other cruise lines. This is an ongoing benefit though rather than a one-time status match, so there’s no harm in matching so that you’ve got it just in case.

I agree that it seems odd for Bilt to not tie the bonus % to status. Presumably they think that they can do a better job of micro-targeting people. But for me personally, just paying my rent gets me Silver every year and to the point where I could reasonably push for Gold if I really wanted – and the more they decouple the bonuses from status the less incentive I have to push for Gold.
