A bunch of new, targeted Amex Offers were launched yesterday for Marriott Bonvoy brands. Rather than being valid for numerous brands, these offers – if targeted – are each only valid for a specific brand.
The Deals
- There are Amex Offers for select Marriott brands including:
- Spend $850 at The Luxury Collection & get $170 back
- Spend $650 at W Hotels & get $130 back
Key Terms
- Expires December 31, 2025.
- Terms below are for the W Hotels offer; other offers are somewhat similar in wording:
- Valid on one or more purchases.
- Offer valid only on room rate and room charges at a participating W Hotels property in the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
- Reservations must be made online at w-hotels.marriott.com, via the Marriott Bonvoy App or by calling 1-888-236-2427.
- Excludes all other Marriott brands, timeshares, residences, flight and hotel packages, car rentals, Vacations by Marriott, Marriott Vacation Club, gift cards, online retail purchases, hotel amenities, and purchases of Marriott Bonvoy points.
- Qualifying purchases must total a minimum of $650 USD, following conversion from a foreign currency.
- Offer not valid for lodging stays that are paid for before the promotion start date or after the promotion end date.
Quick Thoughts
These are great offers if you have any on your card(s) and are planning on staying at whichever brand(s) you’re targeted for as they can save you up to 20% on your stay. It’s just a shame that the offers are each only for a specific brand, rather than the more common offers we see that are valid at nearly all Marriott brands.
These offers are showing up on various different types of Amex cards, so it’s worth checking all of your cards if you don’t use a service like CardPointers. My wife’s Marriott Business card was targeted for a couple of these offers which would’ve been ideal in order to earn 6x points on the purchase too, if only we had some kind of plans to stay at the eligible brands.
Other brands that people have been targeted for include Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, and EDITION, so it definitely seems like Marriott is trying to encourage stays at their various luxury brands.
Do note that the offers are only valid for properties in the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, so if your travels take you to an eligible brand outside of those countries/regions, I’m afraid you’re out of luck.
If you can find a property that sells gift cards, buying a gift card at the front desk should trigger the statement credit from the Amex Offer. Finding a hotel with a stash of gift cards – and an employee who knows how to process gift card purchases – can be tricky. If you happen to already have a physical gift card, you should be able to reload that card rather than having to rely on a hotel having their own supply already, removing one of the potential pain points in maxing out an offer in this way.

@Stephen Pepper – can all hotels reload gift cards? for example, if i take gift card to any ritz, st regis, edition or w, will they all be able to reload the same gift card across the brands?
are all hotels able to reload a marriott gift card, regardless of whether they sell them?
I wouldn’t be surprised if all hotels have that capability. Whether their employees know how to do that though is another matter entirely. Even hotels that have physical gift cards in stock often have employees who don’t know how to load them.
Maybe we need to crowdfund a free education program for hotel employees on gift cards.
I got 300 off 750 for Ritz, 300 off 750 for St Regis and 200 off 500 for W on my business plat
If anyone knows hotels that sell gift cards, please list them in the comments here.
I bought from Ritz Boston a couple years ago
I bought from Ritz Charlotte about a year ago.
I see a bunch of Marriott offers on the more affordable brands on Chase cards too.
These are only 10% off. Amex offers are 20 or more
Oh yes, definitely lower offer. But different brands and no minimum spend.
