Hilton Grand Vacations is currently offering a good vacation package that requires attending a two-hour timeshare presentation. You get 3 nights of lodging in one of several specific locations, plus 50,000 Hilton Honors points and a $100 Visa or Mastercard gift card for as low as $199 + tax.
Nick once did a Bluegreen Vacations timeshare presentation and felt great about it. The presentations themselves are lengthy, but if you’re able to get your “no” face on and can use travel to one of the included locations, this could be a pretty good deal.

Quick Thoughts
Hilton Grand Vacations comes out with variations on this basic offer somewhat regularly. This particular one is good for stays in Orlando, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Gatlinburg, Daytona Beach, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, or Myrtle Beach.
In exchange for agreeing to attend a 2-hour timeshare presentation, you get 3 nights’ lodging, a $100 gift card, and 50,000 Hilton Honors Points for $199-$299+tax (and an additional $19.95 for changes made up to 7 days prior to arrival). You buy the package now and then have 12 months from the date of purchase to use it. Note that the points will not post until after you travel, so you won’t get them instantly.
Our reasonable redemption value for Hilton Honors Points is .41 cents per point, so you’re getting around $200 in value from the points alone. Throw in three nights’ lodging plus a $100 gift card and the deal gets interesting, especially if you need to travel to one of the included destinations.
Timeshare presentations are notorious for being somewhat exhausting affairs. To prepare, it’s probably helpful to read Stephen Pepper’s Timeshare Presentation Survival Guide: Get your “No” face on.

Are you allowed to attend if you tell them the whole family is completely deaf.
It may be possible to get a better offer when calling Hilton. We called in on a reservation about a month and a half ago. At the end of the call we were invited to listen to “an exciting offer.” I would have hung up, but my wife listened. They offered us this offer, but then mentioned “other exciting destinations.” After a little more probing (which I was recording) we were offered 4 nights at the Hilton Wialoa in Maui for slightly less than the price of one night.

In 10 minutes you could cover the benefits and privileges, take a round of audience questions, and still have enough time left over to take a short walk.
Very true; I’ve done a couple with Hyatt and I try to picture it like we get stuck going to a bad movie. It’s a waste of time, but won’t ruin the rest of our vacation.
None of these are places I particularly want to visit, but it is tempting to sign up just for the sport of it. I assume a “No” face is similar to one I put on when somebody tries to sell me an extended warranty.
