The last Bilt Rent Day promotion of the year is coming up next week and there’s another good transfer bonus lined up.
Depending on your Bilt status level, you’ll get a 50%-100% bonus when transferring your points to Avios programs. There’ll also be a status-based bonus of 25%-100% when redeeming points for gift cards which is less enticing.

Quick Thoughts
It’s good to see Bilt rounding out the year with another strong transfer bonus. Platinum members are the ones who’ll benefit the most courtesy of the 100% bonus rate, but a 50% bonus for those of us who are base level Blue members is also excellent.
This transfer bonus could be of particular interest now that you can earn Bilt points by shopping with Rakuten. If you switched over your earning preference a couple of weeks ago when the partnership was officially announced, you should’ve gotten your latest Rakuten payout just in time for this transfer bonus.
The ability to get a bonus of up to 100% when redeeming points for gift cards might initially look appealing, but for the most part I’d caution against that. A key reason why is that Bilt points are ordinarily only worth 0.7 cents per point when redeemed for gift cards, so even with the bonus you’d be looking at a 0.875-1.4 cents per point value depending on your status level.
At the top end, cashing out your points for 1.4 cents per point isn’t awful, although you can get far, far better value by transferring to partners (particularly when there are transfer bonuses). In addition to that, many of these brands can frequently be bought at a 10%+ discount elsewhere – especially during the holidays – so that reduces the overall value you’d be getting. For example, on Wednesday Uber Eats and Domino’s are two of the eligible brands, but their gift cards are available for 20% off every day of the week from Costco.

This one is a tough one for me. I have a trip that I will be booking with BA in 2026 that is still pretty far out (however, BA is the only airline that flies direct for the route I want so I know I will be booking BA when the flights get released). I have plenty of Amex points to cover this booking without a bonus, and Bilt points are currently harder for me to acquire (no rent, no credit card). I don’t have that many Bilt points as they are only from my last Rakuten transfer and a little Walgreens shopping.
Without a bonus, the BA business class flight will get a value of about 2.3 CPP (after factoring in surcharges) so better than the average Hyatt booking, even without the bonus, and that would be a value of about 3.45 CPP with the transfer bonus.
But, currently, Bilt is my only access point for Alaska points (no current Alaska or Hawaiian card) and is a great access point for topping up Hyatt bookings.
There’s a good chance that Amex will have a BA transfer bonus before I need to book my flight (but also possible that it won’t).
This feels like a time when I should prospectively transfer, but I could be wrong.
Yeah, that’s a tough decision. I just checked our transfer bonuses page as that also lists all past transfer bonuses. I had in mind that Amex had 2-3 Avios transfer bonuses per year, but it turns out that they’ve only offered one bonus per year for the last three years. Those have all taken place in the summer, so if it follows a similar schedule next year (and there’s no guarantee of that), you’d be looking at a 6-8 month wait before the next one.
Something to bear in mind is that depending on the route, you might get cheaper award pricing booking the BA flight using another airline’s miles such as Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, etc., so you aren’t necessarily confined to booking with Avios when the time comes.
