Was inspired by your podcast to look into this. Overall very compelling. A couple things I noticed.

1) The 20% off coupon doesn’t apply to basic (wanna get away) fares: “The Promotion Code is not valid on Basic fare bookings.”

2) The 7500 anniversary bonus points that you can get on spend for $15,000 post on the anniversary date. If getting a recurring companion pass is your primary goal then probably better to open the card at the beginning of the year so that they post at that time (even if that means missing out on the 20% coupon for the first year).
