IHG has opened registration for its next promotion that’ll run for all of Q1 2026. You can earn double points on all stays starting from your second stay.

Key Terms
- Members can pre-register for this Promotion starting December 9, 2025 through December 31, 2025 (the “Pre-Registration Period”).
- Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning January 1, 2026 and ending on March 31, 2026 (the “Promotion Period”). Members who did not register during the Pre-Registration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period.
- After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn 2X bonus points beginning on their second qualifying stay and each qualifying stay thereafter, with unlimited earning ability. For purposes of this Promotion, a “Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night.
- Room nights outside of the Promotion Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay that was completed prior to registration for the Promotion also are not included.
- Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points & Cash are not Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays for purposes of this Promotion.
- Bookings made through on-line travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking.com or expedia.com also do not qualify under this Promotion. (For additional details on Qualifying Rates, please see the full IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions.)
- If more than one member who registered for the Promotion checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn points under the Promotion for those nights that qualify. If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will receive credit towards this Promotion for only one of the rooms that also meets the requirements of a qualifying room night under the Promotion.
Quick Thoughts
It’s a shame that IHG is continuing its habit of requiring a paid stay before you’re eligible to earn bonus points on subsequent stays, especially considering the ability to earn double points isn’t even that much of a special deal.
You earn 10x base points at most of IHG’s brands, so this 2x promo from your second stay will make that a total of 20x. Depending on your IHG One Rewards status level and if you pay with an IHG credit card, you could earn up to a total of 40x with this promo.
